Yep, Patrick Stewart is a wonderful actor, and yeah, I enjoyed TNG more than whatsoever other series, even the great and underrated DS9. But...

This "flavor" of Star Trek emanating from CBS All Access/Undercover Hideout/JJ Abrams/Alex Kurtzman (Discovery, Short Treks, and now Picard) is not merely a canon violating anathema, but is also an barb to the spirit of what Star Trek was intended to be in the commencement place.

Wow. I hateful Wow. Information technology'south going to one hell of a ride and flavor 2 already a go. I'm an elder and watched the original Trek as it was released. I retrieve the airplane pilot with Magel Barrett as Number Ane before Leonard Nmoy was brought in as Spock. In the day, Star Trek had a really long list of firsts: first interracial kiss, first female officer who allowable men, a Russian (during the Cold War, this was something only not done) and a Japanese man (recall World State of war II?) My parents wouldn't let united states of america watch considering of Sulu and Chekov on the bridge, the list is endless. It spoke to us in our teens at the fourth dimension. Raised my kids on TNG and the original. Nosotros all saturday down every bit a family to enjoy this exciting new prove... Loved the 1st episode. We all waited another calendar week for episode 2.... Then the F-bomb... along with other lewd things. We begrudgingly shut it off.... Nope won't become that way. So sad, ruining the vision of Gene Roddenberry, swearing?? smoking??? what are the writers thinking? if they had bothered to learn the history of the star trek universe information technology would of been nice!! people on earth hadn't smoked in hundreds of years!! Irish gaelic Romulans?? do me a favor, hope Patrick Stewart was paid a huge corporeality to ruin his grapheme.

I had a v-neck shirt printed with an image of his face in blood-red, white, and blue that said "Appoint"--one for me, 1 for my dad. So I'm in! Finally, something my dad and I can watch together, other than Side by side Gen for the umpteenth time. I experience pitiful for the writers, Next Gen is a loftier bar. I even had a dream about Q concluding week--this prove goes deep.

Why the negative comments? The series is not out nonetheless. I similar Patrick Stewart. I'k hoping the writers/story are good and the supporting actors are interesting. I can run across multiple means the can apply this story line. I would however exist interested in using Piccard as a narrator to talk nearly stories (anthology) following Nextgen. There is lots of stories that can come out from Star Trek. I don't demand a repeat of the sixty's version. Its like the Star Wars fans stuck with the Skywalker storyline. Yuck( Killed off whatever mystery in the movies since 1999). Loved Rogue One and lots of interesting books written about the Star Wars surround in the 90s.

I liked the beginning episode of Star Trek: Picard. Recommended. I'm glad season 2 has been approved. Stories take time. It's skillful that characters from Side by side Generation and Voyager will be visited. Looking forward to next calendar week. I promise Whoopi Goldberg'southward graphic symbol Guinan will come dorsum at least for a visit.

I always wanted to encounter more of Picard during the other serial. I wanted him to have cameos and even be in the reboot until I realized how much the Discovery one was garbage. I will be watching this!~ If CBS messes this up.. I don't know if they will exist able to recover from all the hate they are going to get from Picard fans.

Will anyone address and resolve the issues of Picard and Discovery available for everyone outside the U.s.a. and how fans in America accept to pay extra on all access cbs. This is a disgrace. Nosotros pay for cbs on our cable or satellite subscriptions and they want more than. I guess another fan is left behind and shame on cbs.
